My reply to the state NAACP about continuing the Voting Rights Act indefinitelyin Shelby County, the state of Alabama or anywhere in the United States is: Affirmative Action and a host of other such programs are no longerneeded. They did what they were intended to do at the time & have longsince lived out their usefulness.

When Civil Rights werewon in 1964, minorities became equal with every Americancitizen. Minorities have the same constitutional rights as everyone else.I defy anyone to name one right that other Americans have that minoritiesdo not have?

According to the U.S.government's own statistics, whites are now the minority in America. How wouldthe NAACP feel about letting us have all those special rights and privileges?

If anything, minoritieshave privileges that other Americans do not have because of programs likeAffirmative Action that make it a law that a set aside quota of minoritiesmust be included and promoted in everything even if there are morequalified candidates available. How is this fair to all Americans?

If minorities truly areequal to everyone else, then why does the NAACP feel these unfairadvantages over other races are needed? As MLK said, "he dreamedof a day when blacks would be judged by their character and not the color oftheir skin." How then can this be equal if unfair advantages are givenbecause of black skin color instead of standing on ones own character and merit?

Today, 50 yearsafter Civil Rights were won by minorities, if the NAACP doesnot feel blacks have caught up with all other races throughthose special rights and privileges, then what year do they project as thetime they might do so?
